Piecing together your beautiful day!
1 ❋ First things first, you get in touch—either through my contact form or via email. From there, you can lock me in or we can jump on a Zoom call to make sure we’re a great fit! We’ll chat about what you’re envisioning and go over my fees.Once you’re ready to go ahead, I’ll secure your date and send through an invoice. A non-refundable deposit of $195 NZD (30% deposit) is required to officially book.
2 ❋ Around 3–4 months before your big day, we’ll meet (either in person or online) to start bringing your ceremony to life. This is where you share your story, I get to know you both better, and we explore what elements you’d like to include—there really are very few rules when it comes to designing your ceremony!3 ❋ After our meeting, I’ll give you access to my questionnaire for you to complete. This helps me shape your story and lock in the finer details. Ideally, this is completed about 4 weeks before your wedding—but if timelines are tighter, that’s totally okay too.4 ❋ At the 4-week mark, the remaining balance of your invoice is due5 ❋ Around 3 weeks before the wedding, you’ll need to apply for your marriage licence online. It’s a simple process, costs $150, and gets emailed directly to you. You can then forward it to me so I can print and bring it along on the day. Licences are valid for 3 months, and while they usually arrive within a few days, this gives us plenty of buffer time.6 ❋ With about 2 weeks to go, it’s time to focus on your vows. 7 ❋ In the final week (or day before), we’ll run a rehearsal. Ideally, this is at your venue so we can practise the flow of the ceremony, including entrances and exits. If you have a bridal party or someone walking you down the aisle, it’s great if they can join too—along with whoever is handling your music. If you’re not based in Auckland, we’ll do this via Zoom and talk everything through while you practise your walk.8 ❋ Then… the big day arrives! If I’m travelling to you, I can pop in beforehand to go over any last-minute details and help settle any nerves—especially if we haven’t had an in-person rehearsal. Once at the venue, I’ll connect with your other vendors, check sound and timing, and make sure everything is perfectly set for your ceremony. When you’re up there with me, I’ll guide you through everything—so there’s nothing to remember and no pressure. You can simply be present, soak it all in, and enjoy celebrating your love.
After the ceremony, I’ll leave you with a copy of your marriage documents and take care of sending the official paperwork off for registration. Then I’ll give you a big congratulations and quietly slip away.
